Pace University Student Obiageri

Obiageri from Nigeria

Undergraduate pathway program student at Pace University

As part of my pathway program, I have gone on day trips to New York's parks and museums, and longer trips to Boston. I went to the Coney Island water park and had the best time of my life! I have met some really kind and amazing people here.

Pace's Global Pathways program staff are wonderful, and they really look after each student. If I stop by the office and my advisor is busy, another staff member will step in right away to answer my queries. It’s reassuring to know that everyone here feels responsible for my wellbeing.

You'll really get to know Pace well when you attend our orientation, get involved with our social events and spend time with our private tutors. We make sure you're equipped with all the tools for success, so that your pathway program puts you on the right track to graduation.

Pre- and post-arrival support

You’ll receive support from our advisors before you even set foot in the USA. Join one of our biweekly live webinars to find out what actions you need to take before you depart, and get answers to any pressing questions you may have. Once on campus, you can get extra support services, including private tutoring. We also schedule regular office drop-in hours, so you can come by for assistance or simply to chat.

At the airport

We can be there to greet you as soon as you land in New York. Book an airport transfer through us, and we’ll to take you directly to your accommodation, and will make sure that you are comfortable and have everything you need.

Orientation week

In your first week, you’ll explore the University and surrounding city, and meet the staff who will be supporting you. We will take you through the process of setting up a bank account and accessing the student health center, and help you settle in and feel welcome in the USA.

Social activities

We organize regular activities to help you meet American and other international students at Pace. Scavenger hunts, tea and coffee social hours, international holiday celebrations and movie nights are just some of the ways you can enjoy life in your pathway program. We also organize visits to places and events around New York City.

Accommodations

You can learn more about American culture by living with other students in the University’s residence halls, or by choosing a homestay with a local family. University housing includes a meal plan, and is within 5 minutes’ walk from the University campus, as well as shops, cafés, restaurants and local landmarks. Homestays can be arranged with families living in Brooklyn or the other boroughs near Manhattan, providing an immersive experience and an excellent way to improve your English.
