During International Student Orientation Week, you’ll get an introduction to the ASU campus, staff and helpful resources for your studies and social life. We’ll share tips on adjusting to American culture, making the most of academic advising sessions, and how to open a US bank account. Features of ASU housing
First-year undergraduate students are guaranteed housing on the campus that hosts their major, in a residence hall with others who share their academic or career interests.
ASU-USA Pathways students can apply to live in one of two residence halls on the West campus: Casa de Oro or Las Casas. Since housing is limited and is not guaranteed, you are encouraged to apply as early as possible.
Graduate and transfer students can apply for apartment-style housing on any campus. Housing is limited on each campus and is not guaranteed.
Off-campus housing options include university-recommended apartment complexes near your campus. Pathways and English preparation students can also choose to live in a “homestay” with a local host family — a great way to practice English and immerse yourself in American culture!
At ASU, you’ll have lots of resources to help you succeed in your university studies. The International Students and Scholars Center hosts workshops where you can learn tips for US academic study, while the University’s Academic Success Programs offer peer-to-peer tutoring in a variety of subjects, writing help, and advice for developing your academic skills.
I met with an ASU career advisor before any interview. They prepare you according to the actual position you're applying for, and ask you to talk about how your experience fits with the specific job description. If you can't answer that, then you know you have more work to do. They really helped me a lot.
Being a new international student at ASU, I did not know what to expect, or even what university would be like. However, I quickly realized how many exciting and wonderful things I get to experience, from football games to a variety of clubs you can join based on your interests and preferences.

We organize many activities to help you meet other students and explore the Phoenix metro area. You can join planned excursions within Phoenix and day trips to some of Arizona’s most popular attractions. Campus events such as movie nights, sporting events and English conversation clubs are great ways to learn more about American culture and to improve your language skills.
