1. Your accommodation

At the University of Bristol, you’ll stay in modern, secure, Kaplan-arranged student housing. Our great-value accommodation packages provide the ideal environment for studying and enjoying student life. We guarantee your accommodation when you book before the accommodation deadline.

* While every effort will be made to allocate your first choice, we cannot guarantee this, and you may be offered another accommodation type or location. If you submit your form after the date listed, we cannot guarantee you accommodation but will make every effort to find suitable housing for University of Bristol pathway course.

Note: to fully guarantee your accommodation, you should pay your tuition deposit, accept your study offer and complete the accommodation booking form before the guarantee date in the table above.

2. Your visa credibility interview

When applying for a UK study visa, some students will have a credibility interview. This is so UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) can be sure that you are a genuine student.

During the interview, you will also be asked about your course. It is important that you become familiar with the relevant course structure and module information, which you can find below.

    Preparation for…Undergraduate-level study in the UK
    LevelRegulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) Level 3
    Programme contentA selection of:

    - Subject modules
    - English language and academic skills modules
    Hours per weekThe number of hours per week will vary during your programme, but on average you will have 15-24 hours per week of class contact time.
    Progressing to universityTo progress to your chosen university, you will need to achieve a certain academic score and English language score. You also might be asked to submit a specific piece of work or attend an interview.

    Any requirements for your degree choice will be detailed on your offer letter.

    What will I learn on the International Foundation Programme?

    On your International Foundation Programme or International Foundation Programme Plus, you will learn how to:

    • Understand and demonstrate basic knowledge in your chosen subject
    • Successfully use English to communication in speech and writing, using subject-specific terminology
    • Create structured arguments using a broad range of academic resources
    • Develop your confidence as an independent learner, in preparation for your future studies

3. Your arrival details

If you’ve booked accommodation with us, our arrivals team can meet you at the airport and take you directly to your new home. If you plan to find your own transportation from the airport, it is important that you complete our pre-arrival form to notify us of your arrival details.

Welcome events

During the first few weeks after you arrive, the University of Bristol organises a series of welcome events and activities. These are designed to help you meet other students, become familiar the local area, and settle in quickly.

We strongly recommend that you take part in some of these welcome events, so that you have the best possible start to your International Foundation Programme!
